The Cerritos Republican Club sponsored a Forum for the candidates for the ABC School Board and the Cerritos College Board. It was held in the Skyline Room of the Cerritos Library on September 8, 2009. David Shaffer and Bob Epple had called prior to the event that they could not make it. No word was received from Tom Chavez.
