For the December General Meeting, the Cerritos Republican Club held its annual Christmas Dinner party in the Skyline Room of the Cerritos Public Library. Guests were checked in at the door by Membership Chair Joan Pylman and Treasurer John Dawson who collected membership renewal dues and dinner contributions.
After the reception, Shannon Kauble and Sean Saclolo entertained the audience with "Songs of the Season," a mix of classical Christmas and broadway songs. Their performance was outstanding!
Candy Yee took these pictures of the attendees.
Then dinner was served with our guests, 1st CEB Marines from Camp Pendleton, leading the procession by the tables filled with entrees consisting of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied carrots, green beans, salad, and rolls. As we were waiting for our turn to be served, Candy took more pictures.
After the dinner, the Marines introduced themselves. They came from Maine, Pennsylvania, Texas, Montana, and other states of the union. They were all thankful to the Club for inviting them to this friendly dinner.
Then they posed for a group picture with local elected officials.
After the Marines left, Club business continued with an impromptu presentation by Bruce Barrows. He talked mainly about the dire financial situation brought on by the dissolution of the Redevelopment Agency.
The 2014 Cerritos Republican Club Board was sworn in by Bruce Barrows. They consisted of President Naresh Solanki, Vice President Becky Lingad, Treasurer Ben Campos, Programs Chair Matt Kauble, Ways and Means Chair Noel Jaimes, and Membership Chair Joan Pylman.
The Club would like to thank the following Gold Sponsors: George Ray and Naresh Solanki and the following Silver Sponsors: Pino Pathak, Joan Pylman, and Rick Royse for their generosity in underwriting much of this dinner. The Club also thanks the many members who donated toward the cost of the dinners for the 1st CEB Marines.

The October General meeting was held at Frantone's Pizza and Spaghetti Villa in Cerritos. It was also a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Cerritos Republican Club. Joan Pylman and Dixie Primosch emceed the program portion of this occasion.
