General Meeting
October 12, 2021

The Cerritos Republican Club held its second in-person General Meeting of the year in the Skyline Room of the Cerritos Library on October 12. The guest speaker was Braden Ellis, a Business major at Cypress College. For a required Communications class, Braden had to prepare a ten minutes Zoom presentation and then participate in a Question and Answer session with the instructor [This is the first class she has ever taught at Cypress College] and another student. During the Q&A session, the instructor interrupted his Answers and berated him several times. The Zoom session was posted on the internet and it went viral. Because Braden gained such renown, he was invited to be interviewed on Fox News, Fox Business, One America News Network, and Newsmax.

Using another camera, Jim Yee recorded three videos of his introduction by Mark Dameron, Braden's presentation, and most of the Club's Question and Answer session.

Braden took more questions in this video.

An epilogue to the episode experienced by Braden Ellis is that the instructor was put on leave before his next class meeting. At that next class meeting, his classmates verbally attacked him and said that he was racist.

The business portion of the meeting began after the guest speaker and all other non-members left the meeting. That part will not be reported here.

Special General Meeting
September 15, 2021

4394The Cerritos Republican Club changed to a Special Meeting on September 15, because September 14 was Election Day for the Recall of Gavin Newsom. There were two guest speakers---Gracey Van Der Mark and Walter Myers III--- about "Critical Race Theory." This was followed by a Question and Answer session with the two authors, Soo Yoo, and Michael Eugenio. The last two are members of the ABC USD School Board who were the only ones who accepted the Club's invitation to participate in our meeting on "Critical Race Theory."

4388[This author draws from articles about Gracey Van Der Mark and other sources.] Garcey Van Der Mark started learning about Sex Education in California in 2015 and has been giving talks to parents about how to approach their school districts to review curricula and request changes. Her talk was on "California's Sexuality Education and Critical Race Theory."

When Gracey's youngest child was a Junior in high school, she was searching for information on the California Department of Education. Gracey found a link warning about Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). She went to the local school district to ask if there were any changes in the district regarding sex ed and health. She was told there wouldn't be any. Months later at a conference she heard Rebecca Friedrichs [Our speaker on February 12, 2019] explain that CSE was a real threat and that it was going to be implemented under the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA). She then called her district about this and was told again that changes were not happening. She found and studied the CHYA and became angry that the District was either ignorant or lying to her.

Gracey says that CSE is much more graphic and inappropriate. Here are some of the most concerning issues:

Gracey recommends that parents stay in contact with their districts and "double check" everything they say. She encourages parents to ask about approved speakers and to review books, recommended websites, videos, worksheets, and presentations. Talk to your children. Let them know that if they aren't comfortable with a topic, then they can go to the Office. Then call or text you immediately. Finally, opt out of any sex ed class your local school is offering. Teach your own child about sex incorporating your values and beliefs.

Then Dr. Walter Myers III was the next speaker.

[This author draws from articles by Dr. Myers and other sources.] Dr. Walter Myers III is an adjunct faculty member at Biola University. He is on the Advisory Board for the California Policy Center, an educational non-profit focused on policies to improve California's democracy and economy. He talked about the history and evolution of what is now known as "Critical Race Theory." Its roots began in the early 20th Century when neo-Marxist Antonio Gramsci founded the Italian Communist Party. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels worked toward the overthrow of the middle and upper classes by the working class. They had to tear down the ideas of family, nation, capitalism, and God. Thus began the notion of group-based morality with the idea that what is moral is what serves the interests of the "oppressed" or "marginalized."

Marxism was brought to America in 1937 by scholars from the Institute for Social Research in Frankfurt, Germany. They started at Columbia University's Teachers College. Herbert Marcuse was a spokesman for Critical Theory on which Critical Race Theory is based. In America the focus shifted to oppressed ethnic, racial, and gender groups.

CRT argues that America's legal, economic, and political systems are racist. It argues that racism advances only the interests of white elites materially and working class whites mentally. CRT chooses race consciousness. CRT rejects the principle of equal opportunity, believing that it is a myth. It rejects the concept of "merit" since only those in power determine what is equal or what has merit. CRT promotes equality of results instead of equality of opportunity.

CRT rejects individual liberty over group rights and colorblindness. Dr. Wyatt Walker, one of Martin Luther King Jr's closest friends and advisors, argues that CRT divides people into groups, explicitly pitting racial groups against each other.

Like Martin Luther King Jr., Dr. Myers hopes that one day we would judge one another by the content of individual character and not the color of our skin.

Then Gracey Van Der Mark and Dr. Walter Myers III were joined by ABC USD board members Soo Yoo and Michael Eugenio for a Question and Answer session. Unfortunately, this author does not have information on this part of the meeting.

An article suggested for reading about Critical Race Theory is "Critical Race Theory - Seven Hard Truths" by Robert B Charles.

General Meeting
June 8, 2021

01Today Jim Yee was en route to his daughter's home in Belmont, California. When he arrived there, he quickly turned on his laptop and joined the June CRC Zoom meeting which was already in progress.

Guest Speaker Stephen Frank

02 The guest speaker, Stephen Frank, was giving his presentation to the audience in attendance. He was talking aboot the fact that during the pandemic Gavin Newsom used his emergency powers to close the churches, but three churches filed suit against this action. They won their cases and the State of California had to pay those churches $3.2 millions of our tax dollars. There are other churches that are suing. Restaurants have also sued that there is no scientific evidence that a capacity of ten to twenty-five percent was needed. The State of California stands to lose tens of millions dollars to the restaurants. All of this is because the Democrat controlled legislature refuses to take away the Governor's emergency powers.

Furthermore, Governor Newsom is using $162 million to "bribe" people to take the vaccine. That's our taxpayers money. There are still many people who do not wish to take the emergency use vaccine. Alameda County is reducing the number of reported deaths from COVID by 25 percent because the deaths were misdiagnosed. Another unpublicized fact is that, as of last week, over 4800 people have died after taking the vaccine. That is more than from any other vaccine. This is published at the CDC in the Press Releases section. Many of Dr. Fauci's statements have now been found to be wrong.

Turning to Cancel Culture, Stephen said that it actually started in China in the 1930s during the Cultural Revolution. It lasted until 1968 and was based on the four Olds---Old Customs, Old Habits, Old Traditions, and Old Rules. Must get rid of old customs. Where were we last Foorth of July? Were you able to go to church last Christmas? We are not allowed the habit of having a barbecue on Memorial Day. We are not allowed the tradition of watching what we want to. The tradition of free speech is pretty much gone except for people like us who are willing to speak out and be brave. As far as rules, there are no rules anymore. Government can close down schools, churches, and restaurants. What do we do about this?

Stephen talked about wearing masks. He talked about his personal experience at a Best Buy Store in Simi Valley. Everyone abided by a sign which said that everyone who enters the store must wear a mask. After entering, everyone took off their masks. No one said a word about people inside the store without masks. They are using common sense.

Stephen said that a group at Stanford compiled 67 studies on wearing masks. Not one concluded that wearing masks would stop a virus. Johns Hopkins followed this with another study which concluded that masks gave little or no value to stopping a virus. Let's use science not politics. Be active and speak out. Be a role model for society. BE BRAVE!

03To start the Q&A section, Dixie Primosch complimented Stephen on his "California Political News and Views" newsletters in which he covers a lot about what is happening in Sacramento. Normally this kind of information is not readily available. She then asked about Critical Race Theory. Is it being required in our schools? Stephen responded that California is requiring it in Ethnic Studies. It says that we don't provide enough history about minorities. He does not object to this as long as all sides of a story are told. For example, the different economics of the North and South prior to the Civil War should be discussed when learning about slavery. Unfortunately only one theory is taught. A student who questions the theory would be called racist. That is wrong.

In Chat, Tracy Winkler asked for a further explanation about the vaccine deaths. Stephen said that about 4800 death certificates were signed by attending doctors that the deceased died from the vaccine. After receiving these, the CDC declared that, since there were no autopsy reports, none of the deaths were due to the vaccine! Who do you beliveve? The attending physicians or a bureaucrat in Atlanta, Georgia?

With no more questions, Mr. Frank volunteered his own analysis of the Recall Newsom effort. The coalition of those favoring the recall are parents whose children couldn't go to school, churchgoers who couldn't go to worship, restaurant owners who lost their business, and many others. The Progressives don't care whether or not he is recalled. If a Republican replaces him, the Democrats have a supermajority in the Assembly and Senate, so they can override any veto of the new Governor. Also a Republican governor can nominate judges, but the State Senate Democrats can easily disapprove any nominee.

Dixie Primosch asked Stephen Frank for more comments about his newsletter. He responded that every morning at 3 am, he publishes the "California Political News and Views" newsletter. He started it in 1996 and now it is the newsletter for the California Political Review website. If you visit the website at www.capoliticalreview.com/, you can click/tap on CALIFORNIA POLITICAL NEWS AND VIEWS in the horizontal banner of links to read the latest and past newsletters. You can also have the newsletter sent to you by email daily by going to the home page of the California Political Review website, scrolling down while looking for a box on the right and above Subscribe, entering your email address in the box, and clicking Subscribe. Dixie has been subscribing to it since Stephen visited the Club [on January 10, 2006].

Tracy Winkler asked whether the Democrats have a backup plan to support a Democrat in case Newsom's recall is successful. Mr. Frank replied that, even though there are a few Democrats running, the California Democrats have decided on an "All or Nothing" plan. They are not supporting any particular Democrat.

Thus ended Stephen Frank's presentation.

Club Business

04Hospitality Committee Chair Lew Gentiluomo reported about the annual July barbecue. He said that the City will be opening up parks and recreation facilities on July 1, and we cannot make reservations until then. The City has not yet provided the guidelines for using the outdoor shelters. Most importantly, his Committee does not feel that there would be enough time to plan the picnic. Under normal circumstances, thirty days is required to send out invitations and find out how many people would attend. Matt Kauble raised the issue of whether the barbecue could be held in another month such as August. 05Mark Dameron said that the Board would be taking this matter up at the next Board meeting. The bottom line is that the picnic will not be held on July 13.

Lew also reported that the caterer for our Christmas party had closed her restaurant due to COVID and will not reopen. However, she will cater our Christmas party. Beginning July 1, we will try to reserve the Skyline Room of the Cerritos Library for the Christmas party on December 14.

Let Freedom Ring Committee member Candy Yee announced that the Let Freedom Ring celebration would be held in an abbreviated mode. Chuong Vo confirmed that everything about the City opening up is preliminary.

Tracy Winkler asked Chuong Vo about the Library opening up. Chuong responded that it would be open on July 1.

Mark Dameron announced that a new ByLaws Committee was being formed to review the changes proposed by Jim Yee. So far, Mark Dameron, Mark Rizk, Jim Yee, Joan Pylman, and Carla Gilhuys. One more person can be added. Please contact Mark Dameron if you are interested in partipating.

The Board decided not to support any Recall ballots financially in order to save the funds for local elections. For example, next year's Cerritos City Council election.

Vice President Mark Rizk spoke about talks at the Reagan Library which would feature leading possible Presidential candidates. Mark attended the May talk when Paul Ryan was the speaker. He said that Mr. Ryan was very interesting. Mike Pence will the speaker in June.

Mark Rizk announced a "Candidate Development Workshop" by the Leadership Institute on June 26 in Gardena. [Here is the link: leadershipinstitute.org/Training/school.cfm?schoolID=52115]

Mark Rizk announced that in Long Beach on Jun 27 "It's Back Long Beach! Make America Laugh Again," a conservative comedy show, will be live. [Here is the link: www.eventbrite.com/e/its-back-long-beach-make-america-laugh-again-tickets-156373107173]

Mark Rizk said that he is still looking for a Cerritos City Captain for the Recall Gascon campaign. Please contact Mark if you are interested by email at mark.rizk007@yahoo.com. Mark has the permission to pick anyone he wants.

Treasurer Matt Kauble gave a report on Club finances. The 1st CEB fund stands at $2612.27. Five members of the Budget Committee met and will have a budget to present at the next Board meeting.

Mark Dameron brought up the topic of how to spend the 1st CEB funds. At the last Board meeting Dixie Primosch was asked to contact the Friends of the 1st CEB President Janet Beach. Dixie described these six options.

Dixie recommended that $1000 each would be donated to the Golf tournament and the Birthday Ball. After further discussion, Joan Pylman suggested that a straw vote of the members present be taken. The members approved Dixie's recommendation.

Councilman Chuong Vo didn't have anything new to talk about and made himself available for questions. Tracy Winkler asked about the status of the Amazon Grocery store. Chuong revealled that there were technology issues which delayed its opening.

Matt Kauble asked Chuong Vo when Commissions would be meeting again. Chuong said Planning and Property Preservation Commissions will meet first. Parks and Recreation Commission will be next and the Fine Arts Commission will be last to start.

The meeting was adjourned.

General Meeting
May 11, 2021

01Prior to the start of the May general meeting, Joan Pylman announced that during the Cerritos mayoral transition on April 21, Grace Hu was elected Mayor and Chuong Vo was re-elected as Mayor Pro Tem. She also said that the parks would be opening on July 1. With regard to using the shelter at Cerritos Park East for our annual barbecue, Lew Gentiluomo had contacted someone in the Parks and Recreation Department. He learned that, even though the parks would be opening July 1, the City has to rehire and train employees what are and how to handle the new County protocols. Additionally, if the Cerritos Republican Club were to reserve the sheltered facility there, the Club would have to outline in writing how the Club would honor the new protocols. Lew Gentiluomo had told Joan that, in the past, we have to begin the planning for the barbecue at CPE at least 30 days in advance. Thus he told her that we would not be able to have our annual barbecue on July 13.

02
Candy Yee wished Joan Pylman a Happy Birthday.
03
Mark Dameron called the meeting to order.
04
Dean Grose did the invocation. Then we did the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.

Next Mark introduced our speaker, Tom del Baccaro. He is a former Chairman of the California Republican Party and is currently Chairman of RescueCalifornia.org whose purpose is to assist in the Recall Gavin Newsom effort.

05Tom said that he would talk about the Gavin Newsom recall petition and what lies ahead for it. He also wanted to share a few thoughts about national politics. Tom mentioned that he writes for Fox, Fox Business, Newsmax, and The Epoch Times. Last year he made over 500 radio and television appearances around the world. Tom said that, for Democrats, winning an election is not their chief priority. Getting government programs that never go away is their top priority. Throughout history, Socialists never sell their programs based upon the perceived benefits of Socialism. What they have done, going back to the fourth century B.C., is demonize the opposition. They say that they [the opposition] are corrupt. They are bad. They [Socialists] know that their programs will not be popular. They rush to get their policies through. In doing so, they are willing to sacrifice some of their elected officials. They know that once a program is in, it will stay. Look at Obamacare. It's a major program that was passed without Republican support. In the next election [2010], the Democrats lost 63 Representatives. However, Obamacare has survived.

This is how we should view what is going on now. The Democrats will try to pass some major programs and lose lots of seats in both the House of Representatives and Senate. They don't care because their programs will persist.

Joe Biden is physically and mentally weak. He can't handle his job. We live in a dangerous age. Russia is moving troops in the Ukraine. We see this in China with their warships and the like. Also China's technological advantage is in the long game in their 100 year plan. China imports 75% of its oil. The amount of money they are paying Iran will fund Iran's ambitions for years to come.

Learning from history when pandemics wiped out cities, we shouldn't have people live in close proximity. Iran and Japan handled the (COVID-19) pandemic well. Western countries did not.

Going back to the Recall, initially Tom did not support the Recall. Even though Gavin Newsom showed that he cannot solve important problems such as the electrical crisis (blackouts), water policy (75% of the water from northern California goes straight to the ocean because of the smelt), homelessness (if you pay for it, they will come; California by far has the most homelessness; billions of dollars have produced nothing), and wildfire crisis (cannot fight environmentalist about trimming trees away from wires). Still Tom stayed out of the Recall effort.

What prompted Tom to join the Recall Newsom campaign was what Gavin Newsom did after the pandemic hit. Governor Newsom used the Emergency Services Act to do things that Tom felt were beyond his authority. So Tom created the California Revival PAC which made large donations to the Recall Newsom campaign. It also supported conservative candidates. 2.2 million signatures were submitted for the Recall Newsom petition. Tom believes that the ballot will be approved and the special election will be in October. If Newsom is recalled, then the candidate with the most votes will win and become Governor in ten days. Tom estimates that 12 million people will vote, and we need to push it through. A lot of Democrats and Independents signed the petition.

We need to remind people why Newsom should be recalled. The water supply needs to be maintained. Homelessness needs to be addressed. Tom helped form RescueCalifornia.org to do a lot of the campaigning.

Tom also talked about Gavin Newsom's handouts. They are causing workers to stay home instead of working, because they get more money staying at home. This is killing small businesses. People are leaving California. Jobs should be the number one issue for the next Governor.

Newsom has offended the churches, restaurants, small businesses, and parents of school children with his pandemic policies.

06Dixie Primosch asked about the train to nowhere? Tom said that is another Newsom failures.

Tom answered a few more questions before ending his conversation.

Turning to the Club business portion, Mark Rizk annouced that he was appointed the lead person in the Gateway Cities area for the Recall Gascon petition. If you would like to volunteer, contact him.

07Lew Gentiluomo said that the City is not taking any reservations for CPE any time soon. He said that it takes 30 days to send out invitations, wait for responses, and plan for the event. Chuong Vo said that Cerritos Recreation Department Head Sherre Titus is willing to put the Club down for a tentative reservation. Chuong volunteered to talk with her again.

Programs Chair Dean Grose said that the June speaker would be Randy Economy, who is a Senior Advisor and Official Media Spokesman for Recall Governor Gavin Newsom 2020.

General Meeting
April 13, 2021

01CRC President Mark Dameron was unable to attend the April General meeting because he was on another Zoom meeting. So Joan Pylman stepped in as the Zoom meeting host. That is, she took up the responsibility of admitting people into the Zoom meeting.

In Mark Dameron's place, Vice President Mark Rizk presided over the meeting. After the pledge of allegiance and invocation, Mark turned the meeting over to Programs Chair Dean Grose.

02Dean then introduced our guest speaker Susan Shelley, who is a colunist and editorial writer for the Southern California News Group which publishes twenty-nine newspaper editions including the Orange County Register and the Long Beach Press Telegram.

03In response to what topics our members wanted to hear about, Susan started talking about Gavin Newsom. She said that Governor Newsom said that he has the right to write new laws and amend old laws unilaterally [under the California Emergency Services Act]. In particular, he issued an executive order [N-67-20] to make modifications in voting laws because, as a result of the threat of COVID-19, a state of emergency existed. She added that Sacramento area Assemblymen James Gallagher and Kevin Kiley filed a lawsuit in a [Sutter County] Superior Court. Judge Sarah Heckman ruled that Governor Newsom had overstepped his authority in modifying existing statutory law or make new statutory law or legislative policy. Newsom's legal team appealed the decision through the California Third District Court of Appeal in Sacramento, which will be heard on April 20.

04Susan then talked about another area where Governor Newsom is using the California Emergency Services Act. When one wants to convert commercial property to residential property, one usually has to go through a long process of hearings. With the Emergency Act, a number of hotels are being used to house homeless people without any hearings. A couple cities have sued against this because of loss of hotel tax revenue. And more local taxes would have to pay for renovations and maintenance. In Norwalk this has happened. In a court case, the court ruled that it's only temporary. Now the state wants to make it permanent under the Emergency Act. The cities will have no say about this.

In the area of housing, the State is pushing the policy of getting rid of single family homes. Currently, one can have a home and an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) which is like a cottage on a single lot. A new law allows an additional junior ADU like a room above a garage. Another law does not allow a city to require off-street parking. More city services would be required and the homeowner's taxes would go up. Essentially, in California, every lot can have three residences.

Susan then turned her attention to Senate bills SB9 and SB10. SB9 [introduced by Senators Atkins, Caballero, Rubio, and Wiener] would allow each current parcel to be divided into two parcels, each with a home and an ADU. Again more city services would be required and the homeowner's taxes would go up.

SB10 [introduced by Senator Wiener] allows a city to "blow up" a single family zone and build a 10 unit apartment building on any single lot if it is within half a mile of transit. You may have bought in a single home zone and then find a 10 unit apartment going up next door. How would you like that? Say "NO" to both SB9 and SB10. "No" to the war on single family homes. Write your California senator and assemblymember to vote "NO" on SB9 and SB10.

What is the answer to California's housing problem? Susan says to tear down the "urban boundary." Al Gore had said that it was bad to build housing in the suburbs and outlying areas because it was bad for the planet. People would have to drive cars to work thus increasing greenhouse gases and wrecking the planet. Suppose this were true. All of California produces one percent of the greenhouse gases. So more driving would make no difference in the greenhouse gases. No effect on climate. With the pandemic, we have learned to work at home. We should tear down the "urban boundary." We could live in the suburbs and outlying areas. This would create more housing construction in a less densely populated area. We wouldn't have the tremendous friction of high density living. In California we have issued much fewer building permits than other states. As an example, Texas, Colorado, Nevada and Arizona are building housing and growing.

Another thing to stop is ATA1, which would lower the threshold to pass a tax bill from two-thirds to 55% for infrastructure. What is "infrastructure?" Washington thinks everything. So you might see one or two items on a local ballot for anything. Needs two-thirds approval in both Assembly and Senate. If it passes both, a simple majority by the voters would pass. We need to stop ATA1 at the state legislatures.

Then Susan turned to recalls in California. Recall is a good thing for accountablity. The people running California government want us to live in scarcity. Don't use electricity. Don't use water. Don't drive your car. Don't turn on your air conditioner. This is driving businesses away. This is increasing poverty. The recall is an opportunity for candidates to talk about what to do about this.

Susan said HR1 is wrong. Georgia law is not racist. Voter ID is not racist. It's not Jim Crow. There is a very sophistocated operation to persuade people to make it sound like we must have federal legislation to override these terrible racist ideas. Clean elections are not racist.

It's important for people to get involved in what's going on. One of the good things about this pandemic is that people have stayed home and learned more about politics.

In the Q&A session, Tracy Winkler asked what is Susan's solution on the homeless problem? The problem is that funding is available to build housing for the homeless. But the units that are being built cost as much as typical condos. This helps the builders and construction unions. Housing is not the issue. Medical care is. We need to treat more homeless people as in-patients. In 2019 Donald Trump offered financial aid for more hospitals for mental patients. Guess what? California refused to apply. Buying a Motel 6 for $30 million to house homeless people is crazy. Allowing tent camps on public property is not the solution.

Joan Pylman asked about bringing juvenile migrants to the Long Beach Convention Center. Susan said that Long Beach has a contract to keep up to a thousand there until August. Everyone is saying that it's temporary, but the problem is not temporary. In March almost 19 thousand kids came across the border. 4100 kids were crammed into places that should hold only 250. NASA people are being offered paid leave to help migrant children. Biden's policy to allow children come across the border is wrong. It is dangerous for the children. No end in sight. No idea of the costs. This is disturbing.

05Dixie Primosch asked whether the recall of Gascon would get enough signatures. Susan said that people are so upset about his actions that she was confident that there would be enough signatures.

06Lew Gentiluomo had asked about Supreme Court packing. Susan responded that usually, when a President forms a Commission, it means that he isn't really interested. President Biden has created such a Commission, so this implies that he is not really interested. He is really trying appease the left. She quoted Theodore Roosevelt, "I may not know much about law but I know how to put the fear of God into judges."

Dixie Primosch asked about the bullet train. Susan said the current plan is that it would go from Bakersfield to Merced. But there is not enough money to match federal funding.

Susan ended her talk and Club business began.

Mark Rizk announced that the American Freedom Alliance was offering a two hour workshop on "Learning the Art of Persuasion" on April 19 from 5-7 pm. For more information, email mark.rizk007@yahoo.com.

Treasurer Matt Kauble presented the Club's financial report. He talked about possibly using political software from ispolitical.com. He also mentioned that the Club would have a credit card for online purchases.

Hospitality Chair Lew Gentiluomo brought up the possibility of the Club presenting a plaque of appreciation to Naresh Solanki for serving as Mayor for two years. [Assistant City Manager] Kathy Matsumoto told him that the Mayoral transition will be virtual and no one else would be allowed to be present. Lew also expressed uncertainty about having the annual July BBQ. This is one of our two best fundraisers.

07Membership Chair Joan Pylman announced that our newest member Kammie Ngo was in attendance for our Zoom meeting. Kammie is a consultant in corporate finance. Chuong Vo had talked with her several times and told her she should join our Club. After some time, she joined.

Programs Chair Dean Grose iterated that Tom Del Beccaro would be the guest speaker for the May general meeting. He has been talking with Congresswoman Michelle Steel for the July picnic.

Matt Kauble received a letter from Young Kim stating that her seat is at the top of the Democrat's list of targeted seats. So she's already in re-election campaign fundraising mode.

Jim Yee reminded everyone that at the last meeting the Amendments to the ByLaws were approved with the condition that further changes suggested by him would be reviewed. He asked what has happened? Mark Rizk said that the Committee had reviewed his changes and did not accept any of them. However, Joan Pylman said that Jim's changes would be on the agenda of the Board's next meeting [on April 26]. Since the ByLaws Committee had been disbanded, a new ByLaws Committee would have to be formed.
